When I did my business course a few weeks ago we were taught 1 very valuable lesson ‘Don’t be a busy fool’ in other words, don’t charge to little for your services or you will become a busy fool. How right they were!!!!
There are not many people who do what I do, so I had to start thinking about how much I charge for my services, and this way I can put far more time and effort into my work and still get paid.
I love what I do and want to do the best I can 😀
My shift in the studio today was busy making more hilts for the Iron Throne. I managed to get 4 more made before I had a visitor called Matthew. Such a sweetie as he knows him and his friend Tom are welcome to visit any time they wish but next time I may get them to get their hands dirty with a bit of air drying clay making lol.
I have built a de different famous sword hilts, see if you can take a guess at them. The pictures are not that good I’m afraid. Not studio tomorrow as it’s shut but I’m back in on Saturday.
In the mean time today, we went to visit Audrey 2 at the Gwyn Hall in Neath and my boys had a picture with her. She’s looking amazing and so many people have said they have booked tickets to see the play which is brilliant. Keep them coming. We want this show sold out!!!!!
I’m back in my studio tomorrow evening. I’m so excited. I have got soooooo much to get finished over the next 2 months that it is going to be my biggest challenge yet.
I need to pace myself as best as I can though, because other wise I am going to run myself into the ground and this will not do.
I’ve had my relaxing break and am feeling really refreshed for the next 2 months. Watching this space friends because there is far more to come 😉
My husband and I are in Rome on our honeymoon after we got married last December but because of our children and our work commitment we couldn’t go away till now.
After taking a business starter course last week, we were told that the best inspiration comes from taking breaks from work, and they wernt wrong. I have had more inspiration over the last 5 days then I ever thought. I won’t go into it right now, but I am looking forward to visiting a certain store in Swansea 😀
Anyway, we have had an incredible honeymoon here in Rome while staying at the Crown Plaza, St Peters, it’s been amazing. Wer now waiting for our transport to Da Vinci’s Airport before our flight leaves at 4.10pm.
She is finished. Oh how I love saying that. I am so thrilled with her she’s brilliant. The colours are vibrant and eye catching as a promotional piece, and she is big and small enough to be a table top piece. She was completed in about 20 hours in total.
Our Audrey has a purple tongue and ivory blood stained teeth and very bright eye catching colours as an advertising piece. I have used the style from the film and also from the production poster of the play it’s self.
I am very pleased with it. Now all I have to do is get her to the show on time lol 😀
You will soon be able to visit one of our props without having to go all the way to Swansea.
For a limited time only, our very own Audrey 2 will be displayed at the Gwyn Hall in Neath to advertise a production of
“The Little Shop of Horrors”
So from this Saturday onwards, go and take a look. She is completely lush. Bright colours and ready to entice anyone so she can FEED!!!! He he
What a week and weekend it’s been. Honestly I havnt stopped, I’ve even been getting up early which, if you ask any of my friends or family, I just don’t do that!!!!
As most of you know I finally finished the Gargoyle Wings for a truly lovely customer who is going to be performing with them in London in June. I am so excited to see this myself. After completing them, they were then on their way to their new home at 11pm on Friday night. I was glad to finish them and I don’t miss them because they look so incredibly amazing on the lady who they were be-spoke made for 😉
Audrey 2 is coming along. The leaves are all finished, all 35 of them lol. These leaves are quite big. All hand made and painted, then latexed to get that rubbery/waxy feel to them. So I will be attaching them to the vine and decorations that. I have a large ceramic plant pot for her to sit in. For that I think I will use expanding foam so she’s safe and doesn’t move.
The finished prop is going to be displayed in the Gwyn Hall next week to advertise the production of The Little Shop of Horrors.
I’m really looking forward to it myself 😀
Here they are!!!! All finished and on our stunning customer 🙂
